thrills!

Kryptonite called me baby! From anyone else that nickname wouldn't thrill me... but it's a new term of endearment from Kryptonite.

Dear Lord

In the overwhelming and depressing purge and clean, I found this paper which made me laugh much:

"Dear Lord,

So far today, I'm - doing all right.

I have not gossiped, lost my temper, been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish, or self-indulgent. I have not whined, complained, cursed, or eaten any chocolate. I have charged nothing on my credit card.

But I will be getting out of bed in a minute, and I think that I will really need your help then."

It suits my mood PERFECTLY, except I have no bed to get out of at the moment, only a floor.

Bugs

Fabbalous dropped by the store to me and told me bug stories. Apparently the extra large cockroaches they have on display at the museum escaped and now live under the cabinets. Grown men have been known to run shrieking. Her husband was trying to flush one down the toilet once, but just as he reached for the leaver the cockroach leapt out of the toilet and ran away.

It reminded me of the time we bought a second hand fridge, and it turned out to have cockroaches, and I sat on the porch freaking out, while Jaja roamed the kitchen like a white knight squashing them with a hammer.

She made me laugh a lot.

Yummy

1. We had a coffee Hagen-Däs break in the mid afternoon. Mighty Mouse said "I like working here. What happens when you work with lots of women? You have lots of ice cream and chocolate breaks."

2. I am pleased to have firecracker hair again.

3. I planted a small wall planter with four different kinds of basil. It looked so yummy I wanted to take it home with me.

4. I changed a certain someone's pseudonym to the ever-so-appropriate and delightful Kryptonite. He is my kryptonite :)

5. Kryptonite put on some heavy grungy hip hop this morning and called it "music to wake up to", which made me laugh.

Sunshine day

1. The sunshine was warm and summery.

2. I had a watermellon, a pineapple, and a bar of chocolate in my bag.

3. There was a baby in an orange-checkered sundress on the subway grabbing her feet and chewing on her bright pink sunglasses.

4. Iron and Nanermellon and I tanned on the "beach" aka. the roof of Nanermellon's building. Iron has twined plastic plants around a cable that crosses the roof. It looks quite cheesy and cute and festive.

5. Summi sent me MC Hammer dance and Tim Mitchin singing, ages ago, but which I finally watched, and they made me laugh.

Boys

My lovely boyfriend upon finding out that we are now eligible for his insurance to cover me too (!hoooray!) apparently hung up the phone and sang to himself (to the tune of Survivor- by Destiny's Child) "I'm a provider!".

He said the whole situation makes him feel quite manly.

Nibblets of Love

1. Kippen makes really good food.

2. So You Think You Can Dance has excellent choreographers and dancers. I'm very excited, and happy to watch this season. I am also so relieved to be watching a version where the judges usually CRITIQUE (not criticism that destroys their egos, or unqualified praise, but information that can help them improve) and the host is sweet and diplomatic. awesome.

3. Listening to Jeph Jacques play guitar made me happy. I like that he knows how to play and he isn't posting a clip of his guitar playing just because he is good at drawing. If that makes sense.

4. I liked the wealth of concern that was expressed this morning. Emails checking in, msn inquiries, and Big Fish showing up at the door with chocolate for Mumma.

5. I am very very glad that Mummy is safe and warm.

Now I am six, and as clever as clever

1. I like that when I eat ice cream stranger's eyes follow the ice cream filled with desire.

2. I liked the deep, manly, and perfectly deadpan voice that floated out of the darkness of the movie theater after watching one of the cheesiest previews ever, and said "Oh my god, I need to see that." It was hilarious.

3. I liked Nanermellon's silly dances in front of our table as she tried to persuade us to dance on Saturday. Massive booty shakin', a supermarket shopping cart dance, and a cleopatra imitation. What's not to like?

4. I liked doing handstands and races on the beach with Rafiki. He's fast, and acts as if he is about seven years old.

5. I liked snuggling with Kryptonite. He smells lovely and gives the best hugs.

Nora rocks New York

Nanermellon Guest contribution #2

My wall is no longer baby poo orange - hooray for friendly people who come to rub things on my walls that make them no longer baby poo orange!!

I made yummy quinoa with veggies and fresh herbs - yummalicious!

I stubbed my toe and the Rapperlacious wolf came running over to make sure I was okay and licked it better. Hooray for unconditional love!

mmmrow! (you must read that as if you are a saucy french cat...see isn't it much better now?)

Ooops & Ouch!

Nanermellon & Emberella ate a whole nanermellon today. Oops and ouch!

An old gentleman told me he liked my hair this colour. woot!

Elegant cleaning

I did all my dishes while wearing a corsage; because when you are a florist, why not?

good night moon

1. I had lunch with Kryptonite and massaged and then snuggled against his back, napping occasionally, while he worked on the computer. It made my day off seem even more day off-ish to be sleepy while someone else was working.

2. I'm drinking Elderflower juice. It sparkles on my tongue.

3. We went running! I like frolicking and silliness and exercise and good company.

4. I arrived at Dad's house before anyone else, so I got out a shovel and began digging in the garden. A friendly old man stopped to chat with me.

5. Jaja and I carried bamboo poles home, and began spinning them in the dark. I love that I have someone who will practice spinning poles with me; I love the way they look; and I love the feel of the shifting weight as they flowed around our hands.

The Cumulative Effect

I've been making words up in my sleep. I woke up with the following definition running through my mind: Phsailing is the art of reading and writing, as in, "In Medieval times many women could not phsail." Hence the origin of the term "passing", as in, "to pass a test."

I'm still happy from a night spent with my friends. I'm not sure which bits were best to have such a lasting effect. Perhaps it was that I ended up laughing hysterically about the backwards tree and petrified rabbits. Perhaps it was that all the pictures Summi took accidentally seemed to have a barfing theme. Perhaps it was that we made a feast of good food that covered the entire table. Perhaps it was that when I got home the feast had already been started by Mummy and Jaja who made banana bread and cookies, and walking home was walking into a place full of good smells. Perhaps it was that we tried to make all of Summi's incidental wishes come true. Perhaps it is that we all love and admire eachother. Anyway, the cumulative effect is lovely.
