Morning

Yesterday morning, the mist was right up to the edges of the subway tracks as we went over the Don Valley bridge. It reminded me of the mist that would roll off the mountains in Vancouver, turning them into mystical lands like those in the Lord of the Rings.

This morning there was snow on the ground. A hint of winter.

The Ministry of Silly Incidents is Hard at Work

An old chinese man climbed all the way into the big fridges at the grocery store to get items off the top shelf.

A daddy was telling his daughter the story of Cinderella (complete with dramatic voices) while he pulled his daughter up the street in a blue wagon. As soon as he finished she said "Tell me another one!", and her daddy said, "Another one? I just told you a story for the last half hour!"

Rafiki said we could go up to my room and play bumper cars. Possibly my favorite silly euphemism so far.

I gots a job

Filly was asked to TA at the special scholars program again this summer. She feels very happy to have that much needed financing, and also, to be asked back:) (Apparently, the students she helped teach last summer have a current cumulative GPA of 3.09. Last year, it was at 2.7, so something is working!)

This of course in no way precludes the visit to Toronto that Filly is also looking forward to this summer:)

Calvin Klein makes my size in bras!!!!! O brave new world that has such things in it. I was so excited I tried on one of every kind and bought three.

Hank The Cave Peanut!

One of my favorite films from my childhood was Hank the Cave Peanut. He was a cowboy peanut who used to chase the wild forks, and had a pet pea. Whenever I have tried to explain this to people I have gotten many sideways glances and some suggestions that perhaps I'd better lie down until whatever I've been taking wears off.

Highlights

1. Rafiki thinks I'm cute when I burp. As he says, he's smitten with a kitten.

2. I finished a crossword today. Every single square. Without looking up clues on the internet.

3. Mummy went to the park this evening and sniffed the trees. She said the big ones were easier to smell, and she could hide behind them. :)
